An antique style building seats in Guantao County Industrial Zone in the east part of Handan City,Hebei Province,on the west bank of Weihe River,in the hometown of Wei Zheng,a famous prime minister in Tang Dynasey .This is the arts and crafts building of Guantao County Pottery Lacquer Craft Plant. Cover a land of over 10,000 square meters, the enterprise has some 300 employees,including 6 experts and advisors, 50 college and university graduates, 35 graduates of fine arts professional and 20 full time designers.It is a provincial level leading enterprise and has the registered trade mark.
　　 The plant combines traditional process with modern design and attaches importance to high grade arts to create individualized brand name and expand more space for development.Out back pottery products are developed under the guidance by Mr. Wang Yiyang,a notable painting and calligraphy expert. The products are made from silt in the bed of ancient Yellow River,through various processes of mud making, shaping, hand engraving natural air drying and special burning.The characteristics include:complicated processes,difficult burning control and low rate of qualified products. The black pottery products made by the plant are dark but shining, primitive and elegant.
　　How to integrate lacquer arts,pictorial arts and black pottery culture, to make black pottery more colorful and promote the artistic grade of ancient black pottery?Mr. Yin Junting,factory director, is an artist not only skillful in lac quer arts but also having in-depth study in pottery arts. He si the only one able to achieve this. Through many years of research and experiments, he combines black pottery culture having a history of 4500years together with lacquer arts culture having a history of 7000 years. And fills up a blank both at home and abroad. The coming into being of colored pottery in black pottery has rewritten the history that black pottery has no color. Inpottery arts realm, the black pottery and colored pottery made by our plant take a unique position in terms of capacity and art grade. Colored pottery is produced with inlaid eggshell, pearl shell,gold,silver,copper,agate,vermilion and other natural materials,together with natural Chinese lacquer, through lacquer coating, lacquer embossing, colored drawing and polishing. The products features in elegant and supernatural style, water resistant,fire resistant, non-discoloring corrosion resistant, and long lasting. Keeping the primitive classic style of black pottery, the products give additional palatial artistic appeal in more than 400 varieties. All product series have abundant culture connotations and artistic verves. Form the products,we see the soul of soil and fire and the charm of lacquer and pottery.
　　The black pottery, colored pottery, lacquer pottery, lacquer painting of our plant have participated may exhibitions at home and abroad and won many awards. Our products have been collected by concerned units and listed in many albums. We made award articles and souvenirs for China’s 13 thdrama plum blossom festival, China’2 nd art festival. China international Wuqiao acrobatics festival, 29ministries and commissions of the State Council, Benjing Chang’an Theater, dozens of colleges and universities. The products are well appraised by all.Li Tieying,vice-chairman of the national people’s congress standing committee,visited our plant in 2004. Colored pottery works of “Plum Blossom” and ‘Looking Up”, etc, were presented to CPC and state leaders of Song Ping, Wu Bangguo, Liu Huaqing, Wei Jianxing, Jia Qinglin, Qiao Shi, Li Ruihuan and Li Lanqing, by the people’s Government of Hebei Province as gifts. In September,.2006.Our plant is a director unit of Arts and Crafts Association of China and executive director unit of Arts and Crafts Association of Hebei Province. The plant was award with the tutles of “the hometown of Chinese black pottery arts” by China Nation Association of Industry And Commerce and “Black Pottery and Colored Pottery Creation and Research of Creation Center of Chinese Art Research Institute” by Chinese Art Research Institute.
　　Our pottery arts and lacquer arts works won Gold Award in the 10 th Technology Trade Fair and the 7 th Invention Exhibition of Hebei Province;In the same year, we won “Excellent Project” in China Spark Program Exhibition and Scientific and Technological Achievement Award of Hebei Province; In the same year, with projects established in the province and the city.
　　Lacquer paintings “Maiden” and “Pastoral” took part in the international lacquer art exhibition in Japan in 1989 and collected by the State Culture Ministry.
　　Lacquer painting “Rebirth” was selected in the Yishikowa lacquer painting exhibition in Japan in 1991 and included in the album.
　　Huge lacquer painting “Great Wall” was made for the Great Hall of the People in 1993 and well appraised by cultural art circles and state leadrs.
　　Lacquer painting “Spring Over Window” was selected in the Sino-Korean Lacquer Culture Exchange Exhibition and listed in the book “Complete Work of Modern Chinses Fine Ars” by Chinese Arts Association and Chinese Art Publishing House in 1996.
　　Colored red pottery won scientific and technological achievement award and project establishment in the province and city in 1998.
Lacquer pottery “bloom in spring and fruit in autumn” won excellent award by Beijing Tourist in 2000.
　　Lacquer painting “Gorgeous” was included in “Contemporary Chinese Arts” in 2001.
　　No-leaking colored glaze surface black pottery won project establishment in the province and city, and filled up the blank of no-leaking black pottery in 2002.
　　Colored pottery “burning of Chibi” won “Silver Award” in the 4 th Beijing Tourist Product Design Comtest in 2003.
　　Lacquer painting “Mu Cong You Xiao” was selected by the 10 th National Art Exhibition in September 2004.
　　Lacquer painting“Mu Cong You Xiao” was selected in the Arts Exhibition of the 55 th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China by provincial cultural department, provincial literary federation and provincial arts assocation, and won “Silver Award” in October 2004.
　　Pottery works won “Gold Award” in the 7 th Beijing International Art Exposition in 2004.
　　Colored pottery “Burning of Chibi” won “Silver Award” and lacquer painting “Pond Lily” won excellent works award in the exhibition of very fine works by Chinese arts and crafts masters of Baihua Cup, in 2005 Hangzhou exposition.
Lacquer painting “Wild Flower – Taro” was selected in the 2 nd National Chinese Lacquer Art Exhibition in 2005.
　　Mr. Yin Junting, factory director, has been working in fine arts for more than 30 years, and learned form Prof. Wang Yiyang and Prof. Qiao Shiguang, pupils of Liu Haisu. Used to study in Central Arts and Crafts College, he is now a master of Chinese arts and crafts, director of Chinese Arts and Crafts Assocition, deputy director of China Longshan Art Institute, member of the world lacquer culture association, member of Chinese lacquer painting research society, vice chairman of arts and crafts association of Hebei Province, member Beijing lacquer painting research society, membei of Chinese Insitute of Artists Hebei branch,commissioner of People’s Political Consultative Conference of Handan City, and executive member of Handan International Chamber of Commerce. He was appraised as Young Spark Program Pacemaker of Hebei Province by provincial CYL Committee and Provincial Science and Technology Committee in 1998; Won title of “Follk-Artist” by propaganda department of CPC Hebei Province committee and provincial culture department in 1999; Appraised as outstanding individual in civilization construction by the provincial CPC committee and United Front Department of Hebei province in 2000; Was awarded with the title of “Young Pioneering Pacemaker” by CYL Central Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture in December 2003; Won title of “Science﹠Technology Spark Program Pacemaker”by Hebei Province and won prominent contribution award in civilization construction of Hebei Province. Special reports on the achievements by Yin Junting have been made by “China air”on CCTV 4, “Culture and Life” on CCTV 7, English channel on CCTV 9 and Hebei TV, etc. in 2003 Won Honorary title of “Light in the land of China” national “excellent host” by Earth Weekly of the People’s Daily, “Life Daily” and “Central News”,and received by Wan Guoquan, a state leader, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing in 2004.
